I came across this photo of Belushi and Chase in their prime a few days ago and it made me smile. This candid backstage SNL photo was taken long before I saw Mr. Chase make an entire crowd at UCB feel uncomfortably numb. I wish, as we all do that Belushi would have lived much longer, but now that I see Chevy making a fool out of himself on Community, and tarnish his legend by making weird jokes about sex with dead children while he sweated through his fat-man pants, maybe I don't. While Belushi gave us a few years of classic comedy that set the bar for years and generations to come, Chase can only hope that younger generations decide to feast on early SNL and Caddyshack rather than his late-life awkwardness he is now so willing to throw in our collective faces. But damn, he was a rather dashing man back then.
